Plexicouture

„PlexiCouture“ is a personal project about superabundance of plastic waste: we produce it, use it and sink in. Underneath the plastic surface there is the hidden, or even vanished, handicraft. Beautiful unique handmade fashion pieces that we can barely see because of the excessive supply in everything. We found those unique pieces and captured them, vintage and new. We focus on the beauty and it‘s innovative side. The set was built out of Plexiglas, to focus on the beautiful light braking caracteristics and abstractness that plastic can have. Every image shows traces of plastic, in the light, the couture or a detail. Plastic is everywhere now in our society, even in our bodies. Even though there are so many negative facts related to plastic, there also upsides. The problem is us humans and how we deal with it. We humans decide in with way we use plastic. In a superabundance or in a beautiful way.
